1 box of chocolate organic cake mix
♦
3 eggs
♦
⅔ cup of milk
♦
½ cup of apple sauce
♦
¾ cup of finely ground organic unsalted almonds
♦
1 ripe mashed banana
♦
1 container of vanilla (any white frosting) with 1 oz. of red food coloring (depending upon how red you want your frosting to be) added to the frosting. |
Directions:
♦
Follow the directions on the box except for the oil.
♦
Substitute the oil ingredient with an equal amount of apple sauce.
♦
For example: If the recipe says ... "add 3 beaten eggs, ⅔ cup of milk and ½ cup of oil - substitue the ½ cup of oil with ½ cup of apple sauce.
♦
Mix the cake mix, eggs, milk, applesauce, ground almonds, and mashed banana together in a large bowl.
♦
Beat on low speed until moistened, then increase the speed to medium and beat for about 2-3 minutes until well blended and the mixture is somewhat smooth. |
♦
Insert tooth pick in center of cake, and if it comes out clean the cake is done.
♦
Allow cake to cool on a rack for approximately 10-15 minutes.
♦
When cool, cover with vanilla (red) frosting and present a great big slice to your one and only Valentine! |
